Early Struggles with Weight and Body Image
When it comes to weight loss, I have had my fair share of struggles!
Starting at just 10 years old, I began to experience weight and body confidence issues.
I was always the “thicker” one amongst my cousins and one day, a family friend made the comment that pointed it out.
As just a kid, I began to wonder “what was wrong with me” and why wasn’t I thinner like my cousins who were all the same age.
I couldn’t figure it out and the scale continued to climb.
I gained 40lbs between freshman and senior year of high school.
But the weight issues didn’t stop there.
History with Yo-Yo Dieting
After I gained 40lbs in high school, I gained an additional 30lbs in my freshman year of college.
Desperate to lose weight, I followed the keto diet and lost 66lbs.
I thought all my weight issues were over but almost as fast as I’d lost the weight, I’d regained it.
I spent the next 10 years, trying multiple diets, pills, teas and supplements to lose weight.
I spent hours on the treadmill and elliptical each day.
Though I could lose 10-25lbs depending on the diet, the weight always came back.
The Turning Point
I was over 80lbs heavier than when I first started my weight loss journey, my self-esteem had reached an all-time low.
I felt like a failure and began to hide.
I stopped spending time with family and friends isolated myself.
Then, my husband and I took a trip to Cabo and what should’ve been fun, turned into a nightmare.
I was constantly reminded of how self-conscious I felt.
I hated how I felt and I vowed she’d never feel that way again.
I decided that I would learn how to lose weight the right way so I could keep it off.
I lost 88lbs naturally and have been able to sustain it —- even after getting pregnant with my son.
After seeing so much misinformation as it relations to nutrition, healthy eating and weight loss, I launched Glow Up Nutrition in 2021 to help other women entrepreneurs hop off the yo-yo dieting rollercoaster.
What is the Everyday Slim Method?
The
Everyday Slim Method is a simple 3-step behavioral nutrition framework that helps women finally break the cycle of weight regain by shifting their behaviors, habits and mindset towards food.
